We designed and manufactured this unique machine from the ideas of the client who was looking for a more efficient way to detassel his seed corn. This machine allows the workers to easily access the corn tassels at a comfortable height and faster rate. Because there was no other commercially available machines to model off, this machine was built from a concept concieved by the client.
MacKenzie Hydraulics recently built a corn detasseling machine for us. The machine was a one-off with no commercially available machines to get ideas from. Starting with a basic design brief Ross was able to develop the machine on his CAD software. He was able to animate all moving parts through their full range of movement to check that nothing clashed or interfered unexpectedly. Ross was able to suggest more economical building methods and had some very good ideas for the overall design of the machine. The workmanship of all of Ross’s team of tradesmen was of an extremely high standard and the machine has been finished with the utmost attention to detail. The level of ongoing support after the build has been very good. - Michael & Carolyn Tomerini
We were approached by the client to build a Vacuum Excavation trailer custom made to his specifications. Vacuum Excavation is an innovative way of removing/displacing soil and other materials, without the risk of damaging in-ground utilities. This unit is one the largest of it's type in North Queensland.
I was impressed with the high quality of workmanship. They were also proactive with the design and construction, even with what would be considered some weird/out there parts of the job. Very personalised service. - Tim & Kathy Fitzgerald
This Mango Harvest Aid is designed in house to the specifications of the client. We produced 3 of these machines which reduce the double handling of the fruit, while also rinsing the acidic sap off the fruit quickly. It produces cleaner, better quality fruit.
This Pineapple Harvester was designed & built for Piñata Farms in Mareeba. It was designed to replace an existing harvester that had been in use for decades. The new machine featured a topper that safely removes the pineapple tops. It then deposits the pineapples into one area and the tops into another to be replanted. This essentially prevents the double handling that would normally occur when the fruit is tranported to a shed where the tops are then removed by hand.
Pinata Farms did not hesitate to approach Mackenzie Hydraulics & Engineering to build a new pineapple harvester for us as we have always been more than happy with work they have done in the past. The outcome was fantastic; they were able to meet our deadline whilst using top quality materials and ensuring consecutive communication while the project was being completed. Any issues or amendments were immediately taken on board, and the staff were professional to deal with and came across as highly skilled and competent in their roles. The workmanship and hard work that was put into building the harvester is clear to see with the finished result being a machine that runs smoothly and efficiently. The team here at Pinata Farms would highly recommend Mackenzie Hydraulics & Engineering and will definitely be using them again for future projects.- Piñata Farms
This Man Portable Drill Rig was custom built to customers specifications for specialised drilling work inside dam walls.
